How to Create Your First Server

Aug 24, 2025 484 views Updated Nov 11, 2025

Free game servers at FPS.ms each have, depending on the type selected, 4 GB of DDR4 RAM, 2 (200%) high performance CPU cores (i9-9900K or higher) and 5 GB of NVMe Storage allocated. These resources depend on which game type and category you pick. For most people, this is more than enough to host a server with quite a few amount of plug-ins and a couple players without issue. However, this really depends on which game(mode) you host. As an example: if you host Forge Minecraft with a considerable amount of mods and players, you might encounter lag or even crashes. Lower your expectations and decrease the amount of mods.

ATTENTION
FPS.ms offers no SLA (Service Level Agreement) or support on Free Servers. If you experience issues, please read through these docs for solutions and only then seek support on our Discord server.

Create a free server

To create any free server:
  1. Open your browser and go to https://panel.fps.ms/deploy
  2. Under the category of your choice (Minecraft, Terraria, Discord Bot etc) select your server version and location. Then press Get Free Server.
  3. Your server will start installing and you will be redirected to the console. Do not close the tab.
There are two ways to find out if your server has finished installing and ready to play: + Your console has the entry "Done! For help, type "help." + You have received an e-mail titled "Server Installed". As soon as your server has finished installing, you can continue to connect to your server.
NOTE
When creating Minecraft server make sure to read through the Minecraft EULA and to accept it when prompted.
