CanerAkar Regular backups protect your website data against accidental changes, file corruption, or security incidents. FPS.ms web hosting lets you create, download, restore, and delete backups.
Creating a backup
- Go to the Backups section of your web hosting server
- Click Create Backup
- Choose what to include:
- Files -- your website files and directories
- Databases -- all MySQL databases on this service
- Emails -- email account data
- Click Create
Backup Time
Large websites with many files or databases may take several minutes to back up. You can continue using your hosting service while the backup is being created.
Downloading a backup
- Go to the Backups section
- Find the backup you want to download
- Click Download
.tar.gz archive files that you can extract on your local computer.
Restoring from a backup
- Go to the Backups section
- Find the backup you want to restore
- Click Restore
- Choose what to restore (files, databases, emails)
- Confirm the restoration
Overwrite Warning
Restoring a backup will overwrite your current files, databases, and/or emails with the backup's contents. This action cannot be undone. Create a new backup of your current state before restoring if you want to preserve it.
Deleting old backups
- Go to the Backups section
- Find the backup you no longer need
- Click Delete and confirm
Regular Backups
Make it a habit to create a backup before making major changes to your website, such as updating your CMS, changing themes, or modifying database structures.
