Managing Domains & Subdomains

CanerAkar Mar 16, 2026 Updated Mar 16, 2026

Your FPS.ms web hosting service supports multiple domains and subdomains. You can add your own domains, switch the primary domain, and create subdomains to organize your sites.

Adding a new domain

  1. Go to the Domains section of your web hosting server
  2. Click Add Domain
  3. Choose a domain source:
  • Existing -- a domain you already own through FPS.ms
  • New -- register a new domain through FPS.ms
  • Transfer -- transfer a domain from another registrar
  • External -- a domain managed elsewhere (you handle DNS manually)
  • Subdomain -- a free *.hostedbyfps.com subdomain
  1. Enter the domain name and click Add
DNS Required
For external domains, you must point your domain's DNS A record to your hosting server's IP address. Without this, your domain will not load your website.

Changing the primary domain

Your primary domain is the main domain your hosting service runs under. To change it:
  1. Go to the Domains section
  2. Click Change Primary Domain
  3. Select the domain source and enter the new domain
  4. Click Confirm
The change runs in the background and may take a minute to fully apply.
Subdomain Rate Limit
Switching to a managed *.hostedbyfps.com subdomain as your primary domain is limited to once per week.

Creating subdomains

Subdomains let you host additional content under a domain (e.g., blog.yourdomain.com).
  1. Go to the Domains section and find your domain
  2. Click Subdomains next to the domain
  3. Enter the subdomain name (e.g., blog)
  4. Click Add
If your domain's DNS is managed by FPS.ms, an A record is automatically created for the subdomain.

Removing a domain

  1. Go to the Domains section
  2. Click the Delete button next to the domain you want to remove
  3. Confirm the deletion
Primary Domain
You cannot delete the primary domain. Change your primary domain to a different one first if you need to remove it.
