Securing an Offline Server
If you run your server in Offline Mode, your server will be an easier target to bad actors that may join the server from your account, grief your server or steal your items. You can take some steps to prevent such things from happening.
ATTENTION
Offline mode option is only given to Pro users. This option has been disabled for free users as it was being abused and allowed players with a pirated copy of Minecraft to play.
To start securing your server with an Authentication plugin, follow these steps:
Before we start make sure to stop your server before doing any changes to avoid data loss or world corruption.
- Go to the AuthMeReloaded download page and download the latest version.
- Once it has finished downloading, go to your server panel and upload it using our plugin upload guide found here
- After uploading it, your server will need to be restarted once for the plugin to install and generate it's configuration files.
- Join your server and use the command
/register *your password* *your password*
to register your password. - Whenever you join your server again you need to use command
/login *your password*
to log back in.
This ensures only you can join the server as your username.
