Change Server Version

When creating your server, FPS.ms installs the latest version of Minecraft by default with the latest ViaVersion and ViaBackwards plugins enabled. In cases where you'd like to change your server version for whatever reason, you can follow this guide.

Change version of Paper Minecraft

  1. Create a default Paper Minecraft server
  2. When the server has installed and started up, shut it down again.
  3. Go to the Files tab and delete the world(s).
  4. Go to the Startup tab.
  5. Under Variables > Minecraft Version, type in the Minecraft version you'd like to have.
  6. Under Variables > Build Number, type in the Build Number of PaperMC or leave it as latest.
  7. Keep server.jar the same.
  8. Go to the Settings tab and press Reinstall Server.

FPS.ms will pull the version you want and install the server again. As an alternative, you can also download the jar needed through the PaperMC website and upload this to your Files - but be sure to rename the uploaded .jar file to server.jar as FPS.ms does not support any other filename.
